Architectural photography for corporate, commercial, civic, institutional and religious structures.
Architecture, our most fundamental art form, represents the pinnacle of human achievement. At the intersection of engineering and art, aesthetics and cultural resonance work synchronously with purpose and function. From towering emblems of commerce and religion to roadside vernacular and humble abodes, each structure tells a unique story of our history and future.
Arriving in New York City as a young man, I was enthralled by the architectural jewels I observed at every turn, drinking them in voraciously. Although I was informed that real New Yorkers took it all in stride and craning my neck skyward in awe of the towering behemoths marked me as a rube. Having grown up near Chicago, one of the world’s premier architectural showcases, I was not unfamiliar with impressive skylines. My response to jaded New Yorkers: do you know what you’re missing? There exist phenomenal Beaux Arts and Art Deco treasures crowning period structures everywhere! Take the quadrant of eagle’s heads on the Chrysler Building, for example. How can you not marvel at its sheer audacity and drama? Or the incidental beauty of the Queensborough bridge in its brawny, industrial magnificence. As a living art museum, urban America rewards the observant and curious.
On the ground level, one finds exquisite examples of Neo-classical and Federalist-style civic buildings designed to project trust and stability. Plus, unique churches and temples — gems hiding in full view — pillars of community that grace nearly every block in American cities and towns. Proud, elegant, historic legacies representing of dedicated artisans that, sadly, go mostly unnoticed.
In the panoply of wonderment, I include the art of automotive design, which, like structures, are engineered for ergonomics and the integration of diverse systems. The finest examples designed to arouse the senses, harnessing the effects of light and shadow upon undulating surfaces, rendering form while imparting intent and possibility.
At ArchitectureArt.xyz, we utilize the power of artful photography to document the beauty and significance of all types of structures — including automobiles.
